My Story:

Rewind to 2009 when I made a commitment to attend a weekly yoga class in La Crosse, Wisconsin at The Yoga Place.  I grew up being a gymnast and a dancer, and after several years without these disciplines in my life, I was seeking a deeper connection with my body. Little did I know that I would find much more on my mat.  At first, I was hesitant to commit.  What if I couldn’t perform the postures?  I had lost the flexibility I once had.  This studio was an Iyengar yoga studio and what does “Iyengar” even mean?  What if I’m bored?  Are my leggings see-through?  I had questions and insecurities.  I only wish that I didn’t let my fears get in my way for so many years.  I decided to attend sessions at this studio and was pleasantly surprised. I was in class alongside people who were more flexible than me, as well as those who were much more stiff.  Yoga isn’t just about flexibility. I had wrist issues and needed to use a special prop. I learned to use many props to find comfort in my practice. I found that the hour class flew by and I left feeling more clear and centered, good mentally and physically, and was wanting more. I started a home practice…and I learned that yoga is a practice.  The results I experienced encouraged me to make yoga a priority in my life and I have been doing it ever since!  Yoga has changed my life.  It has given me the tools to deal with the consistent changes of life. I feel strong and balanced, my mind is calm and less anxious, and my flexibility has improved.  I am grateful to all of my teachers, including my students.

Yoga is the journey of the self, to the self, through the self.

My Classes:

My intention is to serve every student to the best of my ability.  I will meet you where you are at, and so will your yoga.  Come as you are.  There is not a one-size-fits-all.  We are always changing and we step onto our mats in a different emotional, mental, and physical state every day. Only you can do the work, and I am committed to guiding you on your mat. I am passionate about the benefits of yoga and devoted to lifelong learning and sharing of this discipline!  Our natural state of being is whole, empowered, joyful and vibrant. Yoga helps reveal what is already within us.  My yoga classes are inspired by Iyengar, hatha, and vinyasa styles. We go beyond the physical postures (asanas) to incorporate mindfulness and breathing (pranayama) techniques.  In my classes, I encourage you to remain curious and without judgement to more fully experience an exploratory journey on your mat.
